Have You Seen Her?

Time: 8:15 pm
Location: Albertson's parking lot

A woman sits alone in the parking lot in her minivan. Must be a mom. Yes, there are the tell-tale signs of motherhood: 3 car seats, hair up in a crazy ponytail, various food stains on her clothes. She sits alone, in the dark. She's eating a pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream. She must have brought the spoon with her to the store. She's staring off into space, she looks beyond frazzled. Her kids must not have napped ALL day, she must have played referee ALL day, her kids must have told her NO all day, she even looks as though one of her (precious) off spring, that she so desperately wanted, told her to "GO AWAY, MOMMY!". She looks as though she may just eat the entire pint of ice cream, she even looks as though she contemplating not going back home (just for a few days, though!).

Time: 9:00 PM
Frazzled mom puts the lid on the remainder of the ice cream ( she really didn't eat all of it!), puts the spoon in her purse ( she's pretty sure she'll need it again real soon!), starts up the car, and heads home. The drive home was nice and quiet, enough time to relax and think about the day. She walks into her house, and hears... silence! All kids are sleeping, and now it's her turn!

No names were given in order to protect the frazzled and exhausted... and yes, this is a true story!

I've been meaning to tell you that I love this post. I could totally see myself doing this too! It was great getting together the other day. We will have to do coffee without kids next time, so that we can relax! :)
